RF Electronics Chapter4: Transmission Line Transformers and Hybrids Page 104 2022, C. J. Kikkert, James Cook University, ISBN 978-0-6486803-9-0. Figure 4.67 Stripline Marchand Balun magnitude response. Figure 4.67 shows the magnitude frequency response of the Stripline Marchand Balun and figure 4.68 shows the phase response. Comparing figures 4.67 and 4.68 with figures 4.63 and 4.64, show that the Stripline Marchand Balun has a much better performance than the Microstrip Lange Marchand Balun. Figure 4.68 Stripline Marchand Balun phase response. Parallel Line Balun Realisation As a further comparison, the Parallel Line Balun of figure 4.55 is realised using Stripline couplers. Figure 4.69 shows the resulting circuit diagram. For a good phase balance, the shorted line SL1 needs to be added. For this Balun, the width of the lines was also fixed at 1 mm. The substrate configuration is the same as for the Stripline Marchand Balun. RF Electronics: Design and Simulation 104 www.cadence.com/go/awr
