The tapped inductor for the Hartley oscillator is often made by winding both coils
on a former and using a ferrite slug to tune the oscillator to the correct frequency.
As a result, there will be some mutual coupling between those coils. The MUC2
coupled inductor element represents this configuration and for figure 6.17, a
coupling coefficient of 0.3 is used. The supply voltage of the common emitter Hartley
oscillators is 6V, to ensure that Vce is less than 12V. Figure 6.18 shows the
corresponding Hartley common emitter oscillator with resonator inductors that are
not coupled.
